Some people have been asking me to post another blog, and I agree, it is time I actually write another blog, I guess I'm usually on facebook and I have if not all of you then most of you there.
We sang this song Sunday morning in church and it got me thinking of how often we, or at least I take God's love for granted or how great He actually is. This song reminds me of God's amazing love and how great He is.
How Great Are You Lord
Lynn DeShazo
How great are You Lord
How great is Your mercy
How great are the things
That You have done for me
How great are You Lord
You loving kindness
Is filling my heart as I sing
How great are You Lord
How great is Your love
It reaches to the heavens
How great is the heart
That sought and rescued me

You might be Dutch if....
I found this on facebook and thought it was funny(if you're Dutch that is). There's lots of "dutch groups" on facebook. Enjoy!!
YOU MIGHT BE DUTCH IF...
~ You reused plastic margarine containers long before anyone had heard of the environmental movement.
~ You have a two volume address book, Volume I: A-U & Volume II: V-Z.
~ You have never skipped church to watch the Super Bowl.
~ Your range of restaurants is restricted by the contents of a "Buy one meal, get one free" coupon book that you purchased to support missionaries in Sierra Leone.
~ Your mother's hairdo is the same at your wedding as it was at hers.
~ Your closet is divided into work clothes and Sunday clothes.
~ Your church attendance record is not disrupted by childbirth.
~ Your Sunday routine resembles: church, coffee, roast beef, jello salad, snooze, and church.
~ You have a living room but never sit in it.
~ All your cookies taste like almonds.
~ You make the bed in your hotel room.
~ You can sing "eere zij God" even though you can't speak Dutch.
~ You think that being progressive means discarding the church hymnbook in favor of Keith Green songs on the overhead.
~ You are still trying to justify owning a dishwasher.
~ You have attended worship services at a campground amphitheater.
~ You know what an afghan is.
~ You have lace on your windows but not on your underwear.
~ Your two permanent Saturday jobs are to wash the car and make sure you have enough single bills for the offerings.
~ All of your recipes are adapted to fit a 9 x 13 pan.
~ The usher never needs to ask you where you want to sit in church.
~You might be dutch if the word *shit* is a big part of your vocabualry.
~On a friends birthday u not only wish them a happy birthday but u congradulate the parents on their childs birthday.
~If the most popular flower in your garden is tulips.
~If you give your non-dutch friends druppies just to see the descusted looks on their faces.
~If you go to a school where you know someone moved there from somewhere else because they aren't related to anyone.
~ For a family reunion you would need an entire camp ground to yourselves.
~If you get chocolate letters in your christmas stalking every year... if you start studying holland in a class and end up telling things to your teacher that they didn't know about.
~If you drive all around town to save a couple bucks on groceries (when in reality you are spending that couple bucks on gas to drive around to get those deals).
~ Everyone in church passes the peppermint roll descretly during the offering right before the sermon.
~If ur house growing up was coverd with little cups, plates, and dishes that were all white with blue designs of windmills and farms.
~You might be dutch if everytime company comes over, you have to clean the WHOLE house, even the basement storage room.
~You eat oileibollen for every New Year's Day!!
~ You might be dutch if you have doilies under your lamps and every other nic-nac in your house.
~ If you don't know half of your relatives.

Smyth an Islander? Something is wrong with that picture.
Wow, this is the saddest day in the life of the Edmonton Oilers and their faithful fans. They traded away Ryan Smyth to the New York Islanders for Ryan O'Marray, Robert Nilsson and a 2007 first round pick. Who are those players? I've never even heard of them before?? *sighs* Life must go on.......Go Oilers Go!!!!!!

Life
Well, I know I haven't posted in awhile. Not really sure on what to write in here most of the time but I figured I'd post anyways. So Sara, here you go, another post by moi!
A lot has happened since I last posted. In fact, I don't even remember when I last posted. So to recap my life from the past couple of months.
-moved from North Kildonan to Wolsley (July)
-sister got married in Chicago (August)
- switched locations of my job from the Manitoba Clinic Kiosk back to Churchill High *grumbles* (September)
-Brother went off to Regent College. MISS YOU MATT!!!! (September)
- Went to a real hockey game in Winnipeg (September) Edmonton - 5 Phoenix - 0. Was great to see a real game with friends, was a great atmosphere: doing the wave, chanting "GO JETS GO" . The only downfall was some rowdies from a few sections over from us had to be escorted out by the police.
- Went to the Boonstra corn-maze last night with about 72 youth from church. Was a blast other t han being hit in the head with a cob of corn. At least I don't have a goose-egg from it.
- Excited because the Ever-famous- Naomi is coming home for 2 days. YEAH!!!!
- think I'm getting a head cold.
- Going to a Bomber game next weekend. Go Blue Bo!
- Hoping to get tranfered to a different location within the company I work for [Food Systems Management]
Alpha started up at church last week Tuesday. YEAH. So exciting.
-went shopping today with Bonita. :-)
Had the house to myself for 3 weeks
Well that's all the randomness I can think of that has been going on in my life lately. Hope you enjoy this post, and Sara, I will try and post on here more often.
Love to all who read this. My lovely family and friends.

It's That time again
Yeah. I think it's that time again. About time I posted again. I was mentioning at my friend, Sara's place awhile ago that I rarely get comments on this thing and she had mentioned to me that I hardly ever post on here, so Sara, I'm posting again. Except you're in Holland now, but you'll have a nice surprise when you get home next week, yes, a post from me. Please don't fall off your chair/couch or anything like that. As most of you know by now that we (as a family) have now moved. Yes, we moved out of North Kildonan and into Wolsely. Heck I don't even know how to spell that word right. Anyways, I was out of a computer for awhile, but as you see we have it back now. It's sunday afternoon. Went to church this morning and had a missionary from Nigeria preach, it was a very good sermon. Robyn, my sister is in town this week, and we had a Bridal Shower for her yesterday, that was a lot of fun, lots of family came, and a few friends of the family as well. Matthew, and Dad weren't home for the wonderful occasion, they sure missed out I tell you. Robyn got many beautiful gifts, and as most of you know that she's getting married in *looks at calendar* a week and a bit, on the 26th of August in Chicago. I'm quite looking forward to it. She's not having a wedding party, and it's an outdoor wedding, so we need good weather. Please keep us in your prayers, as we'll be driving down on the 23rd (the previous wednesday). I think this post has a lot of ramblings on it, and not much structure to it, but I hope you can still follow it without getting lost, or thinking that I'm jumping from one subject into the next.
I tried to post pictures and to add some links onto my site, and it didn't work, so I think I need some expertise to help me out with that.
Think that's all my ramblings for now. Take care and until we meet again. So long.

Chicken Soup
Mom found this in her bedroom drawer as she was packing some stuff away for our upcoming move. I think I wrote this in Kindergarten and it made me laugh, and I hope it makes you laugh too.
Chicken Soup
Cut the noodles. Then you put them in the soup.
Put in: 4 carrots, celery, and 10 meat. Put it on the stove.

Only in Canada - Canadian Eh?
While cleaning out my room to prepare for our move coming up in the next month, I found this and I thought I'd share it with you.
Only in Canada - Canadian Eh?
Only in Canada...can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance.
Only in Canada...are there handicap parking places in front of a skating rink.
Only in Canada...do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.
Only in Canada...do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.
Only in Canada...do banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counter.
Only in Canada...do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage.
Only in Canada...do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we don't miss a call from someone we don't want to talk to in the first place.
Only in Canada...do we buy hotdogs in packages of 12 and buns in packs of 8.
Only in Canada...do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'blood sucking creatures'.
Only in Canada...do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering.

Well it's me again! I thought that I should post again, about what, I'm not too sure yet. Life is well...life. I'm alive and kicking I guess you could say. I've been working and just hanging out with my awesome church friends. :-) I went on my first EVER canoe trip a few weekends ago and it was a blast. We had a bad storm on the day we were about to leave, we had to wait on the island a bit longer than we had planned too, but God kept us all safe and we all got to our destination fine with maybe only bug bites. Those darned pesky black flies I tell you. I should be getting my pictures back tomorrow so if I can figure out how to post them on here, I shall do that for you all to see.
Last night I watched the Oilers game. :-( They started out so well, but faltered. I still hope that they can pull it off, and to top it all off, they lost Rollie for the rest of the series. I am not going to be a fair weather fan though and give up on them, as easy as that might be, I still want them to win it all and bring the cup back to Canada, where it rightfully belongs :-)
Oh my, if you want to see something hillarious, put a nylon (pantyhoses) on your head, and take it off slowly, it makes your face go all weird. *points to Liza, Shauna, and Amanda* :P.
Think that's all my ramblings for now. God bless you all and until I write again "so long farewell"..... oh we must watch that movie soon!!
